Ghana Party in the Park (GPITP) Festival is an exciting family fun day event that celebrates Ghanaian culture and brings people of all ages and genders together. This magical experience offers a glimpse into the traditions, attributes, and lifestyle of Ghana, while inspiring by bring the community together.

About US

The biggest Ghanaian outdoor festival held in UK for the diaspora community. Hosted by Akwaabauk and D-Vision Management since 2005. The festival attracts visitors from the Europe, USA, Canada, Caribbean, and Africa.

Live music, spectacular costume display, durbar of chief’s parade, cultural dancers, fashion show, fun fair, football, kid’s activities, arts and crafts stalls and of course the traditional freshly cooked Ghanaian and African food.

Business or pleasure, the festival presents a great opportunity to buy or sell and enjoy the day with family and friends.

Food & Drinks

For a day you can almost forget you are in London. Nothing quite like the smell of Chichinga (kebabs), Choofi, Kenkey, Waakye, Tilapia, Banku and Okro, Kelewele and all the things the street of Ghana takes for granted. For the brave at heart the cultural food tent will have pounded fufu with a choice of light soup and amponchi kraka.

Cultural Display

Cultural display by Chiefs and Queens in colourful attires with the finest golden ornaments high lighting Ghana’s rich heritage and cultural. A public procession amidst drumming, singing and dancing

Cultural Dancing

The cultural dancers highlight’s some of the various types of dance styles within the Ghanaian culture, giving the crowds the opportunity to participate if they want.

Fashion shows

This creates a platform for upcoming designers to showcase their talent. It also highlights some of the latest designs with an influence from the Ghanaian/African culture.

Kids zone!

Kids area with qualified adult supervision. Various activities available are face painting, games consoles, bouncy castles, fun fair and more. This area serves as a platform for socialisation for the kids as well as their parents.

Food and Beverage Options

Various food and drink vendors will be on site, including fully licensed bars. Please note NO food or alcohol can be brought from outside into the festival grounds. NO glass or bottles are prohibited in the festival grounds. We urge everyone to drink responsibly. We operate a challenge 25+ at the bars.

Drinks: There will be fully licensed bars on site; alcohol is NOT permitted from customers into the event grounds or surroundings during the event day. *No glass or bottles are allowed into the park

Personal Belongings & Safety: Please keep your belongings safe. Keep your phone somewhere secure and do not leave bags or items unattended.

First Aid tents and aiders will be available throughout the day inside the events ground

Official pre-booked On-Site event parking can be purchased through our website. There are significant parking restrictions, so we do not recommend driving unless you have an official event parking pass.

On-site car park tickets are only available in advance here.

FREE PARKING ALSO AVAILABLE – 12 – 15 Minutes Walk (Wyatt Farm Open Space, put the following postcode in your sav nav: N208QL)
You do not need to book this in advance. You can arrive at the car park on the day – please note, spaces are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Every year, we work hard to make the Ghana Party as accessible as possible — and this year is no different! Please note: the walk to and from the Free Parking includes a hill and some uneven terrain.

Traffic enforcement will be in full operation on the day and cars will be fined and towed!

We strongly recommend unless you have purchased your car park tickets in advance that you travel via public transport.

We ask everyone when attending & leaving GPITP to respect the peace of the LOCAL RESIDENCE and SHOP OWNERS. Please DO NOT PARK in RESIDENCE driveway. Be mindful on making noise Please note all attendees are subject to being searched, any refusal to comply will result in denial of entry. We ask for your cooperation in following these rules.

We welcome guests with disabilities and strive to make GPITP Festival accessible to all. Please contact admin@gpitp.com well in advance to discuss any special needs. The terrain at Oak Hill Park can be uneven in places, so please take care.

Please bring cash or payment cards, as there will be no cash machine available at the festival. Water stations will be available, and we suggest bringing plenty of water to stay hydrated. There will be toilets on site, but we do not provide battery chargers or power supplies for phones or devices.

GPITP has a NO tolerance policy on drug use and possession. Searches will be carried out on entry and at random times. Anyone found with any illegal substances will be handed over to the Police. This also applies to all weapons.

We expect all attendees to behave respectfully and responsibly. Anti-social or criminal behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in the Police been called. We reserve the right to confiscate any items used for illegal or offensive purposes.

 

Please keep your belongings safe. Keep your phone somewhere secure and do not leave bags or items unattended.

 

First Aid: First Aid tents and aiders will be available throughout the day inside the events ground. Look out for signs or ask a member of staff.

Please expect a thorough and strict search as this is a condition of entry especially in these times of heightened security. Bags will also be searched thoroughly. Pressurized gas canisters and legal highs are strictly prohibited on site. Anyone found with these items will have them confiscated and may be refused entry. Anything that could cause harm is strictly prohibited.

 

No liquids, gels or lotions are permitted into the Event over 100ml. This includes soft drinks/water in sealed containers. Sun cream over 100ml will not be permitted. Perfume and make up will be permitted in plastic or paper containers sized 100ml or less. Glass containers of any size will not be permitted. Any gels or liquids that do not comply will be disposed of by security staff.

 

Food for newborns, infants and toddlers is allowed but will be verified.

 

You are allowed to bring prescribed medication and food on site when accompanied by a doctor’s note or valid medical certificate. Your cooperation with this is appreciated and it is to ensure that everyone attending Ghana Party in the Park Festival has a safe and enjoyable day.
